DPK Consulting was assigned a bathymetric survey to perform a stream cross section in Northern NJ, in the borough of Hopatcong. The challenge was a frozen stream. With weather changing sometimes 15 to 20 degrees a day, the field team knew that checking the location when in the area might offer a chance to achieve the customer’s need.
Their persistence paid off! It required a little extra labor to reach the designated areas, but DPK’s culture and market promise “Service Without Boundaries” is about finding a way – safely and effectively. DPK’s efforts enabled them to record pipe crossings, dams, and major changes in slope elevations. This included top and bottom of the bank and all crossings.
Due to the size of some areas within the location, DPK provided aerial topography with LiDAR. DPK’s UAS Division flew the site and used the LiDAR data to supplement stream cross section data of the larger sections. Using multiple components of their broad services platform and “find a way” culture, DPK delivered a signed and sealed survey and CAD files to their customer.
